“JUST ADD LYRICS”

Experience being a songwriter!

Have you ever looked for a creative, out-of-the-box team building activity? Look no further!
For this workshop, you don’t need to know how to be an amazing singer or play an instrument. It is designed so that you just write lyrics to an original instrumental track with a melody line (written by Petra Jordan).

You will work in groups of 3-4 people and at the end of the workshop, you’ll sing the song with your group, accompanied by the instrumental track. Your will receive a video recording of your performance. The use of the video recording and the composition (lyrics and music) is subject to a license agreement. The license includes a number of scenarios, including non-exclusive or exclusive use, internal or commercial purposes, etc. For more information, please send an email.

Duration:
3-4 hours

Tools for writing lyrics
You will be guided through the process, including getting tips about how to write the verse, the chorus, how to find the rhymes and the right words for your song.

Learning and Development Outcomes

You will develop and employ:
– creative (right brain) thinking
– collaboration and communication skills
– decision making abilities (accepting and rejecting creative ideas)
– conceptual thinking
– critical analysis
– symbolic conceptualization
– skills to emphasize the theme/topic of the song (also very useful for writing speeches, project proposals or product descriptions)

In addition to experiencing the life of a songwriter for a few hours, you’ll find out what why do people sing and what happens to our bodies when we join in with the chorus!
